Funeral Services for Glenn Edward Halfacre, age 72, will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012, @ 4:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Cookeville Funeral Home with burial in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, August 8, 2012, from 1:00 pm until time of service.
Mr. Halfacre passed away on Monday, August 6, 2012, at his home with his loving family by his side.
He was born on February 9, 1940, in Jackson County, TN to Hazel Whitehead Halfacre of Cookeville and the late Alvin Halfacre.
Mr. Halfacre was a member of the Poplar Grove Baptist Church. He was retired from construction as a pipe fitter. He loved raising beef cattle and working on his farm. He loved being around people and he never met a stranger. Glenn was a loving son, husband, father and a cherished grandfather.
He is survived by his mother, his wife of 42 years: Barbara Gentry Halfacre, two daughters and sons-in-law: Rachel and Troy Tayse, and Sarah and Jason Jennings all of Cookeville, five grandchildren: Haley McCulley and husband Tyler, David, Autumn, Landon, and Austin all of Cookeville.
He was preceded in death by his father, his aunts: Martha Thompson, Bobbie Jean Waddups, and Beatrice Chaffin and an uncle; Huston Whitehead.
Pall Bearers will be Greg Harris, Steve Lamb, Carl Halfacre, David Gentry, Bob Steward, Roy Carter, Tom Walzak and Rick Wheeler.
Pastor Justin Randolph will officiate at the services.
