Funeral Services for Ruby Vickers, 68, will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, @ 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Cookeville Funeral Home with interment in the Bohannon Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, April 23, 2012, from 4:00 – 8:00 pm and on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, from 9:00 am until time of the services.
Mrs. Vickers passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
She was born on August 30, 1943, in Putnam County, TN to the late Henry Floyd and Lillie Mae Grindle Matheney.
Mrs. Vickers was a homemaker and a faithful member of the Rocky Point Missionary Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, a cherished mother and grandmother and dear friend to so many.
She is survived by her husband of 15 years Verble Vickers, Jr., of Cookeville, a son: Ronnie Rice, a daughter: Suzie McBroom both of Cookeville, sisters: Helen Davis of LaVergne, TN, Shirley Burnette of Lake City, Fla., Brothers: Robert Matheney of Lake City, Fla, and Paul D. Matheney of Baxter, grandchildren: Laci and Luke McBroom of Cookeville and Billy Jack Malone of TX, Special Care Givers Melissa, Joey and Julie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son: Jackie P. Malone, daughter: Latrisha Shane Malone, four brothers and a sister.
Pall Bearers will be family and friends.
Bros. Noel Cantrell and J. C. Allen will officiate at the services. |
