Graveside Services for Ruby Helen Helms, age 72, will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2010, @ 2:30 p.m. at Stewart Cemetery. Mrs. Helms passed away on Friday, February 19, 2010, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born December 21, 1937, in Putnam County, to the late Ernest Paskel & Erma Ocia Rice Burgess. Mrs. Helms was a retired seamstress, an Avon Representative and of the Christian Faith. She was a loving mother & a cherished grandmother. She is survived by two daughters & a son-in-law: Deborah Martin of Cookeville & Pat & Kenny Taylor of Fayetteville, TN. A son David Helms of Eddyville, KY. Five Grandchildren: Chelsea Ferrell, Jason, David, Victoria & Brent Taylor. A Great-Grandchild: Kolton Taylor. Three sisters: Reba Flatt, Ruthie Boyd & Cleo Cole all of Cookeville. A brother: Wayne Burgess of Cookeville, numerous nieces & nephews and a very special friend Charles Vaughn. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Olen Helms, three brothers: Dean, Dillon & Dale Burgess. Pall Bearers will be family & friends. Bro. Tommy Harris will officiate at the service. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the American Heart Association.
