Graveside Services for Glenn Matheney, age 68, will be held on Friday, March 12, 2010, @ 2:00 p.m. at Choate Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the cemetery beginning at 1:00 pm. Mr. Matheney passed away on Friday, March 5, 2010, at his home on Pippin Rd. He was born October 18, 1941, in Putnam County, TN to the late Henry & Lillie Mae Matheney. Mr. Matheney was retired for over 20 years of truck driving with the Over the Road Trucking Company & loved UT football and fishing. His extensive church family includes: Mill Creek Baptist Church, Rocky Point Baptist Church, Double Springs Baptist Church, and New Home Baptist Church. A host of friends at the Dipsey Doodle and Echo Valley Restaurant in Putnam County. He is survived by two brothers: Paul Matheney of Baxter, and Robert Matheney of Florida. Three sisters: Helen Davis of LaVergne, TN, Ruby Vickers of Cookeville, Shirley Burnett of Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister, and 2 infant brothers. Bro. Nolan Cantrell will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the charity of your choice or the American Cancer Society.
